Kathleen Candler Schaer : scrapbooks, 1916-1918.

The collection consists of two scrapbooks created by Kathleen Candler Schaer. The first scrapbook A Record of My School Days contains memorabilia from her freshman year including family letters, receipts from student expenses and fees, photographs, candy wrappers, old hair pin boxes, and the remains of Easter egg shells. She also wrote her personal opinion on many plays, recitals, and other events which she attended. The second scrapbook contains letters, valentine cards, newspaper articles written by Schaer, programs, invitations, receipts, calling/name cards, bank deposit slips, a slips, a student activities coupon book, a copy of rules for freshmen, a grade report, and many other keepsakes.

Kathleen Candler Schaer (1897-1990), an education major, was a student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas, from 1916-1918. Schaer was actively involved in student life; being a secretary of her class and a member of Young Women's Honor League, Y.W.C.A., Pi Kappa, and Sapphic.
